A hearing testing room located in a hospital in Shanghai was left vacant for over 8 months due to the presence of pungent smell of formaldehyde (HCHO) after renovation. The strong odor affects human comfort seriously and the hearing test cannot be carried out in the room normally. In order to purify the air and eliminate the smell, a Nano-Confined Catalytic Oxidation (NCCO) air cleaning / deodorizing system of model AA400-2 together with the environmental control method were introduced. After 2-week treatment, the pungent smell was diminished and the human comfort was improved.

Nowadays, more and more people concern about how the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) affect their health. Acquire a more healthy indoor air condition was all the people wishes. Odor is a common problem that can be always found inside the premises just after decorations. In most cases, the strength of odor will gradually reduced and finally eliminated for few months, but if there is lack of ventilation, the odor and the air pollutants will be accumulated and persist for a long period of time. Therefore using NCCO system is an effective way to increase the rate of air pollutants and odor removal so as to improve the indoor air quality and thus reduce our health risk.
